Phil Sampson is an expert strategist who has a deep understanding of Leadership, Organisational Culture, Incident Management and Cyber Security and how they influence organisational development and future success.
He joined the Royal Marines in 1978 having been brought up in Kenya. Phil had a diverse and interesting military career as a counter terrorism expert, he served in Whitehall during the 9/11 attacks and was later seconded to the Security Service where he was prominent in founding the strategically important UK Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre. Whilst there he was the author of the National Security threat levels before working with the US National Counter Terrorist Center. He later commanded the Commando Training Centre Royal Marines and Royal Marines Tyne.
Phil left the Royal Marines in 2009 to found Sampson Hall Ltd, an organisation that delivers success to modern organisations using lessons drawn from the military, Government and business.

Dr David Cliff is Managing Director of Gedanken, and the North East Ambassador in Mentoring for the Institute of Directors
But…behind the titles and positions is a man who thrives on using his decades of experience, including senior manager posts across the public and private sectors, to help to make a difference to the lives and careers of others.
David’s 30-plus years of experience in business and executive coaching, mediation, counselling, organisational support and individual personal development hasseen many thousand hours of face to face practice with people from virtually every work and management discipline. Colin Nicklas as is a founding director of 28Quest (a small independent leadership, coaching and performance improvement consultancy based in Plymouth), a leadership consultant and an experienced coach. He is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and holds a post-graduate diploma in executive coaching.
During a 24-year career as a Royal Naval Engineer Officer he was twice responsible for the post-graduate leadership development of the Service’s officers, helped instil a coaching culture at all levels of management and developed strategic level plans for the UK Government’s response to global events.

Sandra began her career in the Veterinary arena in 1982 where she quickly realised she had a keen interest in developing people. This led her to take up a lecturing role at Bicton College of Agriculture where she was quickly promoted to becoming the first female Head of Department. During this role Sandra underwent an RSA qualification in Counselling Skills in order to better support young people in her pastoral care.

Fiona Setch, RGN, Cert Ed.
Fiona had a successful first career as a nurse working as a staff nurse in Burns nursing and HIV nursing. It was whilst working in the AIDS Hospice London Lighthouse in the early 1990s, caring for people who were dying that Fiona realised that the real passion in her working life was to assist people to achieve their potential and enjoy their working lives.
Armed with this knowledge, Fiona re trained in teaching adults, supervisory skills and coaching and has enjoyed the experience of developing people for the past twenty four years. During this time Fiona has worked for a national cancer charity Marie Curie Cancer Care, Newcastle Deanery of Medicine and Palliative care organisations across the North East offering a range of staff development strategies to enhance individual personal effectiveness and team working. For the past 15 years Fiona has been running a successful training and coaching business providing learning and development strategies to individuals and organisations.
